The Indian Association for Bronchology is an interdisciplinary society (registered under the Societies and Public Trust Act no. 431 of 1995)
dedicated to bronchoscopy and interventional pulmonology. It was founded in 1995 by 20 eminent bronchoscopists. The society has now grown to a membership of over 200. The society's diverse membership
includes trainees as well as pulmonologists, chest surgeons, otorhinolaryngologists, pediatricians, and others with interest in chest diseases. Members come from a variety of backgrounds and academic
disciplines. Many have been involved in the expansion of procedural activities in India.The society welcomes members interested in pulmonary procedures. The IAB encourages participation by trainees to
promote education and research, and provides a forum for professional support, education, and scientific exchange. IAB members work in hospitals, private clinics, university medical centers, tertiary care
referral institutions, and government health centers. All are motivated by their interest to learn, teach, and develop professional expertise in diagnosing and treating patients with chest diseases. Annual
conferences provide a forum for exchange of ideas, and updating knowledge and skills. |
